Hunter has started his legal practice since 2002. As an experienced litigator, he is familiar with trial court and execution process and has extensive litigation experience. He has been advocating over one hundred lawsuits and enforcement cases in most-all instances courts and some key administrative authorities of P.R. China.

In the area of international trade law, Hunter has in-depth study in international trade remedies, including the practice of anti-dumping, subsidies, countervailing measures and safeguards. He has participated in lawsuits and cases in areas of intellectual property, commercial and international trade remedies.

  • Respectively launching the suits for Microsoft against Shanghai Gome Appliances Co. Ltd., Beijing Buynow Computer Market Co. Ltd. for software copyright infringement from 2011 to 2013 (Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate Court; Beijing No. 2 Intermediate People’s Court, Beijing High People’s Court and Tianjin Higher People’s Court)

  • Defending a Hong Kong-based jewellery company and its Hangzhou branch for trademark infringement litigation against WanGenglong from 2011 to 2013 (Hangzhou Intermediate People’s Court, Zhejiang High People’s Court)

  • Lodging over 50 suits for five luxury brands against Beijing Silkstreet Co. Ltd, Beijing Silkstreet Real Property Co. Ltd and their vendors for trademark infringement from 2011 to 2013 (Beijing No. 2 Intermediate People’s Court, Beijing High People’s Court)

  • Filing the suits for two luxury brands against the market managements and the market vendors in Shenyang, Ha’erbin, Xi’an, Nanjing, Wuhan, Wenzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Guangzhou for trademark infringement from 2011 to 2013 (Shenyang, Ha’erbin, Xi’an, Nanjing, Wuhan, Wenzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Guangzhou Intermediate Court)

  • Representing an European multinational communications company for patent licensing in Mainland China in 2011

  • Representing a luxury brand in a criminal case against nine criminal suspects in Guangzhou Baiyun District People’s Court in 2011.TheCourt ruled that all the suspects have constituted an offence of trademark counterfeiting; a principal defendant was sentenced to four years andsix months in prison and imposed criminal fine of RMB 15 million (EUR 1.818million).

  • Representing two famous motor manufacturers to handle the vehicle injury cases in 2011(Shanghai Huangpu District People’s Court and Zhejiang Tongxiang People’s Court)

  • Representing Schneider Electric SA and its P.R. China subsidiaries to handle trademark prosecutions, administrative complaints and unfair competitions in China from 2005 to 2010

  • Representing Autodesk Inc. to file withauthorities thecopyright administrative complaints involving Flame, Maya, 3DSMax software for anti-piracy from 2005 to 2008

  • Defending Henan Weidawei Police Equipment Co. LtdagainstTCL Digital Technology (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd for patent infringements and patent invalidations in 2010 (Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court, Patent Re-examination Board of SIPO)

  • Filing the administrative patent dispute for Minfeng Aluminum Co. Ltd against State Intellectual Property Office and Nanping Aluminum Co. Ltd in 2008 (Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court,Beijing High People’s Court)

  • Representing Prof. Gao Xu against Sinopec Shanghai Engineering Company for the patent ownership dispute in 2008 (Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate Court)

  • Representing Sun Mingwei against Dong Wenhui and Beijing Jinbaihan Hotel for trademark ownership dispute in 2005, Beijing Haidian District People’s Court, the first case regarding the shareholder’s derivative case after the newly-amended Company Law
